Q. How long does a bespoke wedding dress take to make?
My standard lead time is 12–16 weeks. This may vary depending on the complexity of the design, and during busy periods the production time can be slightly longer. I recommend getting in touch as early as possible if you have a specific wedding date in mind.
Q. How much does a bespoke wedding dress cost?
Bespoke wedding dresses start from £1,500. The final price depends on the design, fabrics and level of detail. I will discuss the options and costs with you during your design consultation, so you can make choices that suit both your style and budget.
Q. Where is your wedding dress studio?
My studio is in High Barnet, North London, and consultations and fittings are available by appointment. I work with brides from across London and the surrounding areas.
Q. Who will make my wedding dress?
Every wedding dress is designed, made and fitted by me, Katsuko Balfour, personally. You will work directly with me throughout the entire process, from your first design consultation to your final fitting.
Q. Can I choose the fabric for my bespoke wedding dress?
Yes. I work with a wide range of beautiful fabrics, including silks and fine laces, and will help you choose the most suitable options for your design, style and budget.
Q. What happens at a free design consultation?
During your complimentary design consultation at my studio in High Barnet, North London, we will discuss your ideas, wedding style, preferred silhouette, fabrics and budget. You do not need to have a finished design in mind.
You will be able to see and feel a selection of fabrics and laces, and we can explore the possibilities for your bespoke wedding dress together. I will guide you through the options and help develop your ideas into a design that feels right for you.
If you find fabrics that you particularly like, I can also provide small fabric samples for you to take home.
