Alexandra : Sculpting Volume: A Grand Circular Silk Gown Made in London

[Testimonials]

Actually, I worked with her twice: first time for my real wedding (in the church) which happened during COVID and was an official ceremony, rather than anything else.

The second time, on the other hand, was when we had a proper celebration and I had a real silk wedding dress.

On both occasions, Katsuko was very professional and had a great attention to detail. It was a pleasure to work with her.

Thank you, Katsuko, for making my BIG day so special!

A Bespoke Bridal Vision in Ivory Silk

I am absolutely thrilled to share these beautiful photos of Alexandra. As a London-based dressmaker, there is no greater joy than seeing a custom-made gown finally take its place in such a grand setting.

For this particular design, we selected a truly exquisite ivory silk Duchess satin (100% silk). This fabric was chosen because it offers a magnificent pearlescent sheen. Furthermore, it provides the structural integrity needed for a regal silhouette.

To complement this, the interior is fully lined with silk habotai, which ensures the bride feels incredible comfort throughout the day.

Regarding the construction, the skirt is cut in a grand circular shape. Consequently, it flows beautifully with every step. To add even more volume, I incorporated two deep tucks at the front and two at the back. As a result, the dress achieves a dramatic, architectural fullness without feeling overly heavy.

From sketch to final descent: Seeing our silk Duchess satin gown in movement within this incredible London setting.

Ultimately, it was a privilege to bring this vision to life. It is a perfect example of how traditional British craftsmanship meets timeless elegance.
