I am delighted to share a recent commission that perfectly captures what a truly bespoke gown can be. For this bride-to-be I created a pure silk satin wedding dress that marries modern poise with time-honoured craftsmanship, the result of several months of collaborative design and meticulous fittings in my London studio.

Design & Silhouette

The brief was for a look that felt effortless yet unmistakably luxurious. We settled on a gently fluted mermaid silhouette, cut to skim the figure and flare subtly from mid-thigh, allowing the sumptuous drape of 100 % silk to speak for itself. An off-the-shoulder neckline frames the collarbones in the most flattering way, whilst a soft V back adds an unexpected, contemporary edge when the bride turns.

Fabric & Construction

Only the finest silk satin would do: a lustrous, medium-weight cloth whose liquid sheen changes with the light. Inside, every seam is hand-finished, each panel precisely shaped to ensure the dress moves as gracefully as the bride. An invisible zip is hidden beneath a line of hand-covered silk buttons that cascade from the base of the V all the way to the hem—a romantic detail that drew gasps on the day and required hours of careful placement to achieve perfect symmetry.

Fit & Fittings

Over the course of multiple consultations I refined the cut millimetre by millimetre, ensuring complete freedom of movement while preserving that sleek, sculpted profile. Each fitting was an opportunity to fine-tune balance, length and proportion; by the final appointment the gown felt as though it had grown with the bride rather than been placed upon her.
