The dress features a fitted bodice that defines the waist and an elegant A line skirt that falls just below the knee. This classic shape pays homage to icons like Audrey Hepburn and Grace Kelly. The below the knee length brings a sense of freshness, ideal for both outdoor garden ceremonies and stylish city weddings. Inside the skirt, I layered fine tulle to create gentle fullness and natural movement. The result is a silhouette that feels light and graceful, allowing the bride to move with ease and confidence.

I work only with the finest natural materials. For this design, I chose 100 percent pure silk fabrics both inside and out. Silk has a unique character that no synthetic fabric can match. It drapes beautifully, reflects light softly, and feels luxurious against the skin. When a bride wears silk, she can sense its quiet elegance and enduring quality.

Silk Dupion for Structure and Texture

 

The outer layer of the wedding dress is made from silk dupion. This fabric is woven from double cocoons, giving it a slightly crisp texture and a subtle sheen. The natural slubs in the weave add depth and individuality, making each gown unique. Silk dupion holds its shape beautifully, which is perfect for a 1950s inspired silhouette.

It creates soft volume without heaviness and catches the light in a way that enhances every movement. I love using this silk because it brings structure and presence to the design while remaining refined and romantic.

Inside the dress, I use silk habotai for the lining. This fabric is smooth, lightweight, and breathable. It feels cool in warm weather and soft on the skin, ensuring comfort throughout the wedding day. Habotai silk moves quietly with the body, allowing the bride to feel elegant and relaxed.
