My name is Katsuko Balfour and I am a bespoke dressmaker based in North London, Barnet. I dedicate my work to creating wedding dresses and special gowns that exist only for the woman who wears them. Each piece is carefully designed and crafted to embody individuality, elegance and grace.

As a wedding dressmaker in London, I see each commission as a journey we take together. From the first sketch to the final fitting, I wish to offer you more than a dress. I wish to give you a piece that allows you to feel radiant, confident and cherished on the most memorable day of your life.

How It Works

1. Personal Consultation
   We meet in my North London studio, where you are invited to share your vision and your inspirations.

2. Selecting Fabrics
   Together we explore silks, laces and other exquisite materials until we find those that capture your spirit.

3. Design and Fittings
   From initial sketches to the toile and through several fittings, we shape the gown so that it becomes an extension of you.

4. Final Touches
   I provide complimentary adjustments up to your wedding day, ensuring the gown rests upon you in perfect harmony.

How much does a bespoke wedding dress cost?

Prices typically start from £1,500 – £2,500, depending on the design complexity and fabric choices. A precise quote will be provided after your initial consultation.

How long does it take?

It usually takes 3 to 4 months from the initial consultation to completion. For short-notice requests, please contact me as early as possible to discuss availability.

How many fittings are included?

Generally, 3 to 4 fittings are included (including the initial toile mockup). I also provide complimentary adjustments up to your wedding day to ensure a perfect fit.

Do you work with brides outside London?

Yes. While consultations and fittings take place at my North London studio (Barnet), I welcome brides from across the UK and abroad who are able to travel for these appointments.
