A Luxury Ring Pillow of Exquisite Craftsmanship
I created this luxury handmade ring pillow to perfectly complement my client’s made-to-measure wedding dress. Designed and crafted with the same meticulous attention to detail as the gown itself, the pillow was conceived as a natural extension of her bridal look.
It is not only a functional piece for carrying the rings, but also an heirloom that carries the spirit of her dress into the ceremony.
The Elegance of Silk Dupioni and Silk Organza
For the main body of the pillow, I chose silk dupioni, a fabric admired for its luminous surface and subtle slubs that give it a textured richness. These natural variations are exactly what make dupioni so unique—it feels alive and luxurious. To create contrast and softness, I layered the dupioni over pure silk organza.
The organza’s delicate transparency lightens the structure, adding an ethereal quality. In combining these fabrics, I mirrored the same balance of depth and grace I had achieved in her gown.
The Radiance of Silk Satin Ribbon
At the centre of the pillow, I placed a rare 100% silk satin ribbon. Its glossy surface and flowing drape catch the light with remarkable elegance. I used this ribbon not only as a decorative feature, but as the central element securing the rings. I cut, placed, and hand-sewed it with the same care I would when shaping a bridal sash, ensuring that every detail aligned seamlessly with the bride’s dress.
A Touch of Sparkle and Refinement
To bring a sense of delicate radiance, I covered a button with silk and adorned it with a Swarovski crystal and pearl beads. These embellishments were chosen to echo the sparkling details on her gown, tying the two creations together.
The crystal reflects light with refined brilliance, while the pearls lend softness and timeless elegance. This finishing touch transforms the pillow into something jewel-like, small yet significant.
A Reflection of Couture Craftsmanship
The uniqueness of this ring pillow lies in its shared identity with the bride’s made-to-measure dress. I crafted it using the very same silks from her gown, creating a strong and meaningful connection between the two pieces.
As a bespoke wedding dressmaker, I always aim to tell a story through fabric, and here, the pillow continues her story, uniting dress and ceremony in one design language.
