I always use the finest lace and embellishments for my special clients. The lace, like the one in the photo, is delicate and softly shines when it catches the light. The surface shows raised floral patterns and tiny openwork details. Once beads or crystals are added, the fabric looks as if it is dressed in jewels.
Because lace is thin and fragile, sewing requires special care. If the needle catches the fabric, it can easily cause holes or tears. That is why, at the very beginning of the process, I carefully remove every bead that lies along the seam lines. This prevents broken needles and protects the lace. It is slow and meticulous work, but it is essential for a flawless result.
Sewing and Fitting
I cut the chosen lace and join the pieces to form the shape of the dress. I pay close attention to the direction of the lace patterns so that the design flows beautifully. During the fitting, I make adjustments again and again until the dress flatters the body perfectly.
As a wedding dressmaker in London (Barnet), I tailor each gown for the individual bride. A dress is not simply a garment; it is part of one of the most important days in a lifetime. For that reason, I value accuracy and care in every stage of the making process.
Beads and Final Touch
After the sewing and fitting are complete, I reattach every bead and crystal by hand. On average, I replace around 400 to 600 beads on each wedding dress. Using a fine needle and thread, I secure every single bead firmly in place. This is a patient and detailed task, but the result transforms the gown.
The finished dress sparkles with every movement. The beading enhances the lace texture and adds an elegant shimmer. It looks refined, yet striking, and highlights the beauty of the bride.
The Bespoke Spirit
All of my work is truly Bespoke. Every gown is made to measure, designed and crafted specifically for each client. From the choice of lace to the placement of beads, no detail is ever standard or repeated. Each dress is unique.
When a bride looks into the mirror and smiles in her finished gown, that moment makes all the effort worthwhile. My craft is about creating more than a dress – it is about creating joy and lasting memories.
